Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa-Donus (Born May 21, 1997) is an Afropop singer who hails from Ogun state, Nigeria. As the last born in a family of 4, Joeboy grew up a shy and timid kid who was raised in a religiously inclined household. Through the influences of his musically inclined parents and older brother as well as the unique sounds of the Nigerian church,Joeboy absorbed the cocktail of sonics and unwittingly tapped into the musicality surrounding him. At the age of 18, Joeboy started actively working on his music, albeit privately, till he gathered courage to actively put himself out there which was when his cover of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of you caught the attention of Superstar Mr. Eazi. Often referred to as “Young Legend”, Joeboy has over 60 songs (features included) with 2 albums (Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic and Body & Soul) and 2 EPs (Love & Light and Body, Soul & Spirit) to his name including Alcohol which has over 100 million views on YouTube.
