Born Samukelo Rorisang Mavuso on 18 April 2001, Sam Deep is a producer-DJ, who in the past two-years has made a name for himself within the Amapiano landscape. Born in Killarney, Soweto, Sam Deep initially believed that his future would lie in being a soccer star. Ironically, it was the drives back from soccer practice with his uncle that would shift his focus from football to music; inspired by the 45s his uncle would play during their time together after practice, the Rota producer would mark this as his first introduction to his love for music. In early 2016 Samukelo decided to start and pursue a career as a DJ and that decision birthed Sam Deep; a baby faced 15-year-old DJ who would soon ingratiate himself into the Amapiano culture.
